The beauty of Multisport is you get the excuse to practise a range of different disciplines – or put another way…you get lots of great opportunities to get outside and do cool things!
Every winter the MARCH heads up to Scotland to test out some gear and hone those fine mountaineering skills….
This year we based ourselves in Glencoe – the centre of Scottish climbing. For a blow by blow account of the fun and games check out our Facebook updates – www.facebook.com/MARCHAdventureRacing
And for a taster…here are some shots from the weekend:
Camo in full winter kit walking in to the Mamores Range, hiking through the woods above Loch Leven. You will note the very proudly worn Adidas Climacool Elevation shades with amber lenses, Arc’teryx beanie and climbing pants, with La Sportiva Nepal Evo boots. On his back is an Arc’teryx Kamsin 40 pack. The MARCH believes in great kit!
Camo working the last steep section heading up to the saddle before the summit ridge of Stob Dearg. Kit wise you see the North Face Mammutus 3 layer gortex pro shell jacket from the Summit Series doing its job – not really a brand we love but the ’70’s style colours were too good! Along with Grivel Air Tech Carbon ice axe. Legendary French axe maker & the lightest ‘T’ rated (can hold a full belay) axe on the market and of course, made of carbon fibre.
On top of Stob Dearg. No views unfortunately – for obvious reasons! White out – shame, but nice climb. Part of Buachaille Etive Mor which is the main chain of peaks you see as you first drive in to Glen Coe.
Job done! Down safe & well. We pop in to the Kings House Climbing Bar (super famous hang out for Scots climbing gods like Mel Duff) & get a personal greeting from local residents ! In the background you can see what we just climbed ! A lovely peak.
